This recipe was shared with us by Kathe. The key is making sure the dough isn’t too cold. Room temperature dough works best in a cookie press. At the right temperature, this dough will surely make using a cookie press easy and stress free. Press cookies are a highly rewarding cookie to make with friends since there’s minimal effort and lots of reward!

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Mix butter in a bowl. Cream with shortening and egg. Add sugar gradually. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add vanilla and mix well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in separate bowl. Add to butter mixture in 3 sections mixing well. Fill cookie press in batches to press cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
