If you’re new to the Cooking With Friends concept and aren’t sure what you want to cook with your pals, think about what you reach for when it’s dinnertime and there’s “nothing” to eat. Look in your freezer and peruse your take-out menus. Then make some homemade take-out.
Especially if you have kids, this might mean some healthy chicken tenders (see our recipe section) to replace the dinobuddies, and some of your own carrot coins simmered in orange juice and honey, then frozen to be ready in seconds. Or you might whip up a yummy Asian meal or lasagna that will save you that next call to the Chinese or Italian delivery place.
My friends Kathy and Evelyn and I are planning such a cooking session soon, in which we stock our freezer with some family favorites. We plan to make enough to invite the husbands and kids to share dinner all together that night and then head home with our Homemade Take-Out bags.
