As we planned our breakfast foods swap this week, several partners changed, the location of the swap was moved, and the number of participants fluctuated from 11 to 9 back to 11 again (an important number as each cooking team is making food for the whole bunch).
You would think these changes could create a mess, but they didn’t. What kept us organized is Evite. (We don’t have any affilation with the company by the way). Evite is a free online invitation service (www.evite.com) and it’s become a staple of our swaps. When we have a big gathering, the host sends out an Evite, and the rest of us respond if we can make it, who we are cooking with and what we are making. This time, for instance, Evelyn could see that Christine and I were already making granola, so she, Kathy and Cristin decided to make Banana Oat Muffins. We know right away how many people to be cooking for. And when we had to change the location, an email out to the group took about a minute.
Now we can concentrate on the yummy foods we are sharing and have fun hanging out with our friends.
