When three of our friends were making muffins recently, they were having such a great time talking, laughing and hanging out that they forgot…the milk. It’s an occupational hazard of those of us who cook together that we are thinking about the food but also about what we are saying, learning from our time together.
It’s why we recommend getting super-organized ahead of time so you can enjoy yourselves without stressing about missing ingredients or crazy math equations.
But at the same time, when you’re with a friend you might feel like you can experiment with a dish too. Maybe you’ll make a “bonus meal” out of some leftover veggies or suggest to one another an entirely different way of cooking something. Or perhaps you’ll find genius in a mistake.
That’s one of the greatest parts about cooking together, you never know exactly what’s going to happen.
