Sabine’s cookbooks are in Dutch and she’s used to measuring ingredients by weight on a trusty European food scale.
But a summer morning making her homemade ketchup recipe this week showed we have much more in common than not. We want to make healthy foods for our kids, encourage their creativity in the kitchen, and find ways to make cooking more fun.
The ketchup was not easy–lots of chopping, straining, simmering and straining again. But the time flew as we talked about our lives. Later that afternoon, we shared our 12 pots of ketchup at our Staples Swap. Everyone left with a bag of treats–In addition to our Ketchup there was: Homemade Barbeque Sauce, Roasted Tomato Marinara, Pesto (fresh from the garden) and bags of multi-useful veggies. We all need to eat.
