Like so many of you, I’m baking for and attending a cookie exchange this week. My neighbor and I are making Chai-Almond Cookies and Oreo Truffles. In fact, I feel like almost everyone I know, in offices and neighborhoods around the country, is participating in the some sort of unofficial Great Holiday Cookie Swap. It’s such a fun part of the season, cooking together, gathering with friends and then having delicious treats on hand for family and guests.
It made me think to write this: Don’t forget about the rest of the year. If you’re having fun cooking together and sharing now, think about how great it’ll be to swap soup on a snowy February day, or breads in April or sauces and staples in June. Yum, year-round cooking and sharing.

Chai-Almond cookies sound great, will you post that recipe on the site?

Here’s a link to the Chai-Almond Cookies. The cardamom made for a nice, surprising taste, thought they are definitely on the dry (nice with tea or coffee)side.

What a great idea! I love it. I love to cook but live alone. I cook for myself all the time, especially soup. I am going to attempt to get a group started to do this.
Thanks for the idea and inspiration
