It’s been so cold here in Madison, Wi., that schools (which we were told never, ever close for even big snowstorms) were closed two days for extreme wind chill. Eek.
So last week, I was thrilled to have Katrina and Lori here, along with their kids (we had a combined kid count of 5) to make a big, hot, Beef Stew. We had three huge pots on the stovetop, simmering beef I’d marinated in red wine, carrots, and potatoes, along with rosemary and sundried tomatoes. Our kids played, we talked and cooked, and the world warmed up a bit.
