Flowers are blooming, and I’m readying my garden for the first seeds to be planted. So, it must also be time for spring cleaning. There is one kind I love–Spring Cleaning and Cooking from the freezer. Soon we’ll have lots of new veggies from the farmer’s market (it opened last weekend!), CSA and our backyard. So it’s time to use up the bounty of the winter. Check out our April newsletter (you can subscribe on our home page) for more ideas on how to “Lighten up.”
One recent evening our family had “soup night” featuring three homemade soups from the freezer and crusty bread. Out also came quiche, lasagna, chicken pot pie, and chicken taquitos. Each brought reminders of days cooked with friends. And all that saved time from not cooking gives me more time to get the garden on its way.
