Disclaimer: The following is a paid review of the Benziger Family Winery. I agreed to write this review in exchange for monetary compensation after I found their website to be favorable. As always, I only review companies and products that I like and prefer to leave anything negative off of Cooking With Friends.
One look at the photos on the website of the Benziger Family Winery and I’m craving a trip to Sonoma Mountain California. Images of green rolling hills amidst a blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds beckons me to visit this idyllic place — with a glass of wine in hand! It appears that a gem of a winery lies within this beautiful environment and one with a conscious too.
With “sustainable, organic or Biodynamic” wines, the Benziger family has been perfecting its green approach to making wine for thirty years and now they have an entire portfolio of certified wines. I always like businesses that are family run and from their happy smiling faces, the Benziger family seems to enjoy what they are doing. In the virtual tour, Kathy Benziger warmly opens with: “Welcome into our home, our office, our playground.” At the winery, they offer tours with a complete look at the fermentation process, biodynamic methods and of course a tasting of some of their exclusive wines. For those of you who aren’t lucky to live close enough to tour the vineyards, you can peruse the website and order some wines online.
Benziger seems to be a company with some spunk and even has a story for how they named one of their wines. If you visit their site, make sure to watch the video about how the wine Joaquin’s Inferno got its name. With almost 7,000 likes on their Facebook page, it seems they have a nice group of fans. I for one am happy to have learned about them.
