You know how much I believe in healthy snacking and healthy eating in general. I’m always trying to serve my family wholesome, tasty and fresh foods. But I believe there should be a time and a place for candy in a child (and adult’s) life — like Halloween, birthday parties or a trip to the beach. I mean let’s face it. What’s life without a bit of chocolate, sour gummies or a long lasting gob stopper, at least on occasion?
My kids especially like visiting the candy shops in New York City when they stay at grandma and grandpa’s house. Their favorite is Economy Candy on the lower East side but they do like Dylan’s too.
Well, I’ve just been introduced to an online version of both these stores: Blair Candy. They’ve got everything from nostalgic treats to lollipops and even a large line of sugar free candy to choose from. If you’re throwing a birthday party for someone you can even shop by decade, which I find really cool. Not to date myself, but I was excited to find fruit stripe gum — my all-time childhood favorite!
They even sell Halloween candy, so if you like to order online, this may be a good option for you!
This whimsical website belongs to a third generation family owned business located in Altoona PA and is an awesome stroll down candy memory lane.
