Sometimes the best things happen by accident and this couldn’t be more true than with this beautiful, decadent and truly simple sea salted fudge. You see, Suzy and I made cookies last week using the Cake Boss cookie sheet and cookie scoop I am offering in my giveaway this month. (If you haven’t seen the giveaway, visit my review and leave a comment for a chance to win both for yourself!) Well, the recipe we followed for a fudge center cookie required far too much fudge than was necessary. After baking seven dozen cookies, we couldn’t imagine making more and decided to turn the rest into some old fashioned fudge. Suzy decided to sprinkle a touch of Maldon sea salt on top (happened to be a birthday gift from me to her) and we created a treat that out shined the cookie itself. Our kids were certainly not deprived last week (and neither were we!).
Simple Salted Fudge
1 bag Nestle semi sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Maldon Sea Salt
In a sauce pan, melt chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk together over a medium heat stirring frequently. Once smooth, spread in a baking dish (8×8 or larger for thinner fudge) lined with aluminum foil, sprinkle with salt and chill for two hours. Once hardened, remove the foil and cut the fudge into chunks.
